Long-established, family-owned precision job shop in the Springfield, OH area. Small team with very long tenures, and many operators have been here for decades. Steady work, and layoffs are rare. This posting covers two openings at one shop: a CNC Mill Operator (Setup) seat, which is the priority, and a CNC Lathe Operator seat. Both run Okuma machines.
What you will do:
- Set up and run CNC mills (priority) or CNC lathes on Okuma machines
- Handle small batch, high mix work, typically 2, 4, or 6 pieces per job
- Adjust existing programs at the machine (an in-house programmer writes the programs, so programming from scratch is not required)
- Work independently from setup through inspection
Required:
- 3+ years of CNC machining
- Able to set up your own jobs and run independently (this is the key requirement)
- Comfortable making offsets and edits to existing programs
