CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer

Glendale, CA

Full time - Temp to hire.

Monday thru Friday 6:30am to 3pm

$30hr to start

Busy production shop specializing in micro abrasive sandblasting equipment and services is looking for a CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer to join their team in Glendale.

Summary: The CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling equipment to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and capable of taking a job from programming and setup through final inspection.

Responsibilities:

Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines for production runs and one-off components.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.

Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software.

Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding, speeds, and feeds for various materials and applications.

Set tool offsets, work coordinates, and machine parameters.

Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.

Make program and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.

Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and setup issues.

Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and overall efficiency.

Maintain accurate production and inspection records.

Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.

Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.

Work closely with engineering and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a CNC Mill Machinist and/or CNC Programmer.

Strong understanding of CNC milling operations and machining principles.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.

Proficiency with G-code and CNC program editing.

Experience with CAM programming is strongly preferred.

Ability to set up and operate CNC mills independently.

Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining practices.

Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience machining small or precision components.

Experience with tight-tolerance machining.

Experience working with a variety of metals and engineering materials.

Experience with multi-axis CNC milling.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.

Experience in a production manufacturing environment

You should be proficient in:

Machines & technologies you'll use:

  • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
  • CAM Software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM)
  • CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC) (Mitsubishi)
