CNC Mill Machinist

Location: Romulus, MI

Employment Type: Full-Time

One of our clients is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join their manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate 3-axis CNC vertical mills, preferably Haas machines.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications.

• Program and edit G-code as needed.

• Set up and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.

• Machine raw materials into precision finished components while maintaining required tolerances.

• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.

• Understand and work with GD&T and close tolerances.

• Perform in-process quality checks and make necessary machine or program adjustments.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

• Follow established safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Mill Machinist, CNC Setup Machinist, CNC Programmer, or CNC Operator with setup experience.

• Strong experience with 3-axis vertical CNC milling machines.

• Experience with Haas CNC machines is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

• Knowledge of G-code programming and editing.

• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds.

• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.

• Experience machining a variety of materials.

• Experience with tool probing and part probing is a plus.

• Familiarity with Inventor CAM and/or AutoCAD is a plus.

• Must have basic machinist hand tools.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with an extended work schedule, including weekday and Saturday hours.
