Job Title: CNC & Manual Machinist (Tool Steel) – Night Shift

$22.00-$32.00/hr + overtime + $2.25/hr shift premium | Earn approximately $58K-$91K annually

Join one of the cleanest, climate-controlled machine shops in Michigan and work with industry-leading equipment including Mazak, DMG Mori, Mitsubishi EDM, Okamoto grinders, and more.

Machinists at Moeller Precision Tool produce high-precision tooling components for the manufacturing industries of automotive, appliance, pharmaceutical, and much more. We provide job-specific training, but candidates should have at least two years of machining experience.

Schedule

• Night Shift: 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
• Typical: 45–50 hours/week
• Overtime required (up to ~56 hours/week)
• Up to 14 mandatory Saturdays/year (12 PM – 6 PM)

What You’ll Do

• Perform full CNC machine setups (tooling, offsets, fixturing)
• Machine tool steel components to tight tolerances
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints
• Set speeds, feeds, and tolerances
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards

• Mazak/DMG Mori/Kitamura/OKK CNC Mills
• Mazak & Star CNC and Swiss Lathes
• Okamoto/Mitsui Surface Grinders
• Mitsubishi Wire EDM
• Manual Mills and Lathes

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC or manual machines
• Blueprint reading skills
• Knowledge and understanding of quality measurement tools (i.e. caliper, micrometer, indicator, etc.)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience machining tool steel and/or working with Mazatrol or Fanuc controls is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Standing for 8–10 hour shifts
• Frequent movement (walking, bending, lifting)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
