Job Overview:

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding CNC machining equipment while supporting facility maintenance and preventative maintenance initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with CNC machine repair, controls troubleshooting, and mechanical rebuilds in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment issues
  • Repair and rebuild CNC machining centers to restore OEM performance specifications
  • Replace and service ballscrews, spindles, servo motors, servo drives, bearings, seals, and linear guide rail systems
  • Perform machine geometry adjustments, leveling, backlash compensation, and ball-bar testing activities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, CNC controls, and related machine systems
  • Rebuild automatic tool changers (ATC), rotary axes, and ancillary machine components
  • Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and equipment schematics
  • Support preventative maintenance activities across manufacturing equipment and facility systems
  • Maintain repair documentation and work order records for traceability and equipment reliability
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify replacement solutions and reverse-engineer components when required
  • Troubleshoot and maintain facility equipment including compressors, pumps, cranes, and hydraulic systems
  • Identify and report abnormal equipment conditions that could impact safety, quality, or production

Skills & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machine maintenance, repair, or rebuild experience
  • Experience repairing 4-axis or multi-axis CNC machining centers
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls, parameters, and ladder diagnostics
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and CNC machine control systems
  • Ability to replace ballscrews, spindles, servo motors, servo drives, bearings, and linear rail systems
  • Experience performing machine leveling, geometry adjustments, backlash tuning, and compensation
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical schematics
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to safely work with 480V, 240V, and 120V electrical systems
  • Must provide own tools as required

Desired

  • Experience rebuilding automatic tool changers (ATC) and rotary axis assemblies
  • Experience with ball-bar testing and machine accuracy verification
  • Familiarity with G-code and M-code programming concepts
  • Experience supporting heavy machining or high-volume manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to reverse engineering replacement components
  • Experience maintaining facility equipment such as compressors, cranes, and hydraulic pumps
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance methodologies
  • Experience working with multiple CNC machine platforms and control systems
