Description: 

The CNC Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager, they will be responsible for executing preventative maintenance; identifying potential issues that could interrupt machine uptime, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of various equipment used within the manufacturing environment. 

 

Essential Duties: 

  • Maintain the CNC equipment using a “Predictive/Preventive Maintenance Program”, Minimize unplanned downtime 
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of various types of machine tools – CNC and conventional machines, part washers, air benches, recyclers and other various production equipment 
  • Record completion of work orders by documenting in detail the steps taken, parts installed and repairs performed on all equipment utilizing a CMMS 
  • Execute other tasks as assigned 

Education and/or Experience 

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machine maintenance technician 

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and use blue prints, electrical and hydraulic schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and other related technical documentation to assist in diagnosis and repair. 
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Experience operating a fork lift (preferred) 
  • Good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new procedures.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions. 
  • Possession of a valid California driver’s license 
  • Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40lbs.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 
  • Knowledge of operation and repair of at least one of the following : Haas, Mazak or Matsuura machine tools. 
  • Experience participating on a Safety Committee and/or Emergency Response Team (ERT) Preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to type on a keyboard, handle or feel
    objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and/or visual depth perception. 
  • This position may be regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time; or, use hand and/or fingers to type, handle or feel tools or equipment, for extended periods of time. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB: 

  • Office and manufacturing environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and/or manufacturing equipment.
