CNC Maintenance Helper

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs, maintenance, renovations, and general repairs of facilities, grounds, commercial and industrial buildings. Assist with routine maintenance on Computerized Numerical Control machines and preventative maintenance as required. The position also entails, assisting in responding to work orders regarding electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting or mechanical services as needed

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Read work orders and specifications to determine facilities, machines and equipment requiring cleaning, repair or maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains, and performs basic repair of minor building electrical problems, such as changing lamps, ballast, fixtures, switches, photo cells and outlets
  • Does light repair and maintenance of external building, grounds and support equipment.
  • Helps to provide a safe and clean work environment by taking care of general maintenance needs.
  • Keeps buildings current with Federal and State building codes and OSHA regulations.
  • Works flexible hours as needed to ensure work being done does not interfere with general daily operations and production.
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklift on a daily basis.

Assist the CNC Machine Maintenance Technician with the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Assist in dismantling of machines and removal parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists.
  • Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, clothes, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Replace or repair metal or other lining in machines, or in equipment compartments or containers.
  • Remove hardened material from machines or machine parts, using abrasives, power and hand tools, or other equipment.
  • Measure, mix, prepare, and test chemical solutions used to clean or repair machinery and equipment.
  • Replace, empty, or replenish machine and equipment containers such as gas tanks or boxes.
  • Perform other incidental duties as may be required.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: high School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience: 3 plus years of experience in maintenance/ CNC machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic hand tools and electrical testing equipment.

Computer Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and time keeping systems preferred.

Certifications & Licenses: Valid Drivers License and forklift certification/training preferred.
