CNC Machinist - 5-Axis
Industry: Advanced Manufacturing
Shifts: multiple available
**Pay: $30-$50/hour - depending on experience.
**Multiple openings available.
About the Role
A fast-scaling advanced manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Machinist to join its growing in-house machining team as it scales production capacity. This is a hands-on opportunity for a machinist who wants to grow into CNC programming as the shop evolves toward greater automation — the company is actively investing in developing machinists into programmers, not just hiring to fill a seat.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills to produce complex, high-precision components
- Support both prototype and production machining as the team scales
- Collaborate closely with engineering to troubleshoot and improve part manufacturability
- Take on increasing programming responsibility over time — editing existing programs initially, with a path toward full CNC programming within the first 6-12 months
- Work with a variety of materials, including exotic alloys (Inconel) and metal 3D-printed parts, depending on experience level
Requirements
- **Hands-on 5-axis milling
**experience (required — this is non-negotiable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort operating outside a rigid, pre-defined process — this environment rewards critical thinking over rote procedure
- Genuine hunger to learn and grow into a more technical role, not just tenure in a machinist seat

- DMG Mori machine experience
- Siemens controls experience
- Mastercam or other CAM programming experience
- Background machining Inconel or other exotic alloys
- Experience with metal 3D-printed parts
