Job Overview:

Pay Range: $26-$40 per hour

 

2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. OR 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Time and a half for hours over 10 in a day, and of course 40 in a week. $2 an hour shift differential.

 

Position Summary

Position is focused primarily on the setup and operation of a Y-axis CNC Lathe. Applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity in the precision manufacturing of the highest quality valves & actuators for aerospace and power generation customers. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
  • Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
  • Installing fixtures and setting work offsets.
  • Using an offline tool pre-setter, prepare and set tools needed for machining operations.
  • Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends; adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
  • Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
  • Run multiple machine centers as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
  • Experience in set-up and operation of multi axis CNC machinery: 3 axis lathes minimum; Mazak Integrex experience a plus. 
  • High School Graduate or equivalent; technical certification or degree a plus.
  • Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
  • Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
  • Solid understanding of G-code. Ability to program machines a plus.
  • Experience with low volume, high mix production a plus.

  • The primary environment of this position is the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and proper footwear.
