CNC Mill Machinist / Setup Machinist
We are looking for an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our small, established job shop in Uniontown, PA. This is not an entry-level operator role. We need someone who can set up, run, troubleshoot, and make quality parts with limited supervision once they learn our shop, customers, and workflow.
You'll primarily work on Haas VF-4 and VF-11 CNC mills, producing custom parts and small production runs for a wide variety of industries. The right person is comfortable in a fast-moving job shop where priorities can shift, parts vary, and quality matters.
Schedule: First shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30/7:00am-3:30pm
Pay: $30-$35/hr, negotiable based on experience
Overtime: 2-10 hours available most weeks
What you'll do
- Set up and operate Haas CNC mills, primarily VF-4 and VF-11
- Read and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files
- Make offsets, adjustments, and basic program edits as needed
- Select tooling, inspect parts, and hold required tolerances
- Troubleshoot setup, tooling, quality, or machine issues
- Run small batches and custom parts across different industries
- Help keep jobs moving based on customer priority and shop needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Strong CNC mill setup experience, not just machine operation
- Haas VMC experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently after learning our shop flow
- Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
- Comfortable with G-code, offsets, tooling, and troubleshooting
- CAD/CAM or programming experience is a plus
- Job shop experience strongly preferred
- Lead, supervisory, or mentoring experience is a plus
This is a good fit for someone who likes variety, takes pride in craftsmanship, and does not need a lot of day-to-day handholding. If you're a senior machinist who wants steady first-shift work in a small shop where your experience matters, we'd like to talk.
