Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Setup
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining centers.
- Create and edit CNC programs using G-code and CAD/CAM software.
- Select tooling, establish machine offsets, and prepare machines for production runs.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary program adjustments.
Machining Operations
- Manufacture precision components according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality, accuracy, and productivity.
- Perform tool changes and optimize machine performance.
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine-related issues.
Quality Control
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Complete all required production and quality documentation.
Maintenance & Safety
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Follow company safety policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming, setup, and machining experience preferred.
- Proficiency with CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Experience with G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, or similar software.
- Knowledge of multi-axis machining.
- Experience working in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Vocational training, technical certification, or apprenticeship in machining.
