Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate advanced multi-axis machining equipment in a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, experience with tight tolerances, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes to ensure high-quality, on-time production.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment including:

  • - 3, 4, and 5-axis milling machines

    • Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs)
    • Horizontal lathes
    • Creep feed grinders
    • 5-axis grinding machines
  • Upload, download, and edit CNC programs as required

  • Interpret operation sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce parts that meet or exceed specifications

  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, tooling, and workpieces

  • Verify part conformance using precision measuring tools and equipment

  • Analyze and interpret CMM reports and inspection data

  • Perform deburring operations to required tolerances

  • Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G & M codes

  • Run multiple machines when assigned

  • Operate overhead crane as needed

  • Document production and inspection activity in ERP systems, control charts, travelers, and quality logs

  • Maintain continuity between shifts by documenting actions, issues, and ongoing needs

  • Detect and troubleshoot equipment or process malfunctions; escalate issues when necessary

  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Management to ensure production and quality goals are met

  • Adhere to safety standards and properly use required PPE

This position operates within aerospace quality systems including AS9100 and NADCAP.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CNC machining certificate preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience with G & M code programming required
  • Ability to perform basic math, including trigonometry
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required
  • Aerospace machining experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and Okuma controls is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
