Job Overview as a CNC Machinist- OD/ ID Grinding:

As an Experienced Precision CNC OD/ ID Machinist, your role is pivotal in the production of aerospace components, requiring a high degree of skill and precision. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC OD grinding machines, contributing to high-quality manufacturing outputs. This position demands an individual who can maintain stringent tolerances and uphold the utmost industry standards.

Key Responsibilities of an Experienced CNC OD/ ID Machinist

  • Machine Setup & Operation: Responsible for the complete setup and operation of CNC outer diameter (OD) grinding machines.
  • Precision Work: Use radius dressers and other tools to ensure products meet exacting specifications.
  • CNC Programming: Understand and interpret G&M codes.
  • Quality Control: Regularly inspect parts using standard measuring tools, confirming adherence to aerospace industry regulations and standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively within a team, communicating effectively with peers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

 Requirements for a CNC OD/ ID Machinist

  • **Minimum of 2-5 Years CNC OD/ ID or Jig Grinding Experience Required**
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in CNC machining preferred.
  • Required to be capable of holding .0002” tolerances on a regular basis. 
  • Experience in operating CNC grinding machines, specifically in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manual Surface Grinding Experience utilizing spin fixtures, rotary tables, radius dresser, etc.  
  • Deep understanding of technical drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
  • Capable of Manual OD Grinding between centers
  • High level of skill in maintaining precision and handling complex machine setups
