CNC Machinist (Mills & Lathes)

Direct-hire, permanent position. Pay is $17 to $35 per hour, based on experience and skill.

Melben is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist for a precision machine shop in the Dayton, Ohio area. The shop runs tough materials, including Inconel and other high-temperature alloys, and the work calls for someone who can take a job from print to finished part without being walked through it.

This is a direct-hire position on the employer's payroll from day one, not a temp placement. Target start is early September.

What You Will Do

Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes on close-tolerance work
Read and work from blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements
Do your own setups, tool changes, and offsets, and prove out first articles
Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs at the control
Inspect your own parts in process using mics, indicators, calipers, and other precision tools
Work confidently with tough, hard-to-machine materials like Inconel

What We Are Looking For

5 or more years of CNC machining experience preferred
Proficient setting up and operating both mills and lathes
Comfortable owning a setup start to finish, not just running someone else's program
Experience machining tough alloys such as Inconel is a strong plus
Able to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances
Able to work on your own and still be a good teammate
