Job Overview:

What the job is

This is a high-level CNC machining role where you are responsible for full machine setup, operation, and precision production work.

You are not just running parts—you are actively setting up complex jobs, dialing in machines, and ensuring tight-tolerance production.

Core Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines
  • Perform multiple complex setups per shift
  • Configure fixtures for CNC and manual machine operations
  • Set machine origins based on setup instructions
  • Load and align tools for production jobs

Precision Machining

  • Work with extremely tight tolerances
  • Maintain:
  • Squareness
  • Concentricity
  • Parallelism
  • Critical surface finishes
  • Ensure repeatable, high-quality production results

Blueprint & Technical Work

  • Read and interpret:
  • Blueprints
  • Work instructions
  • Method sheets
  • Material requests

Inspection & Quality Control

  • Use precision measuring tools:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Gauges
  • Perform:
  • In-process inspection
  • Final inspection
  • Verify parts meet engineering specifications

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior CNC lathe and/or milling experience required
  • Strong setup and operating experience (not just operator level)
  • Blueprint reading proficiency
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to work independently on complex machining jobs

Work Schedule

  • First shift: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Second shift: Mon–Fri, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
  • 15% shift differential for 2nd shift

Pay

  • Up to $35/hour base
  • Plus 15% shift differential on 2nd shift
  • → effective ~$40+/hr equivalent on nights
