Position Overview

Horton is seeking a CNC Machinist with lathe experience to join our Production team in Britton, SD. This role is responsible for operating and performing basic setup on CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components that meet specification and tolerance requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

Minimum 1 year of experience operating lathes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Basic computer proficiency
Basic math skills

Required Skills & Experience

Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes OR
- Completion of a 2-year technical degree in machining (preferred)
Intermediate inspection and measurement skills
Basic machine setup and operation knowledge
Ability to work efficiently and collaborate with others
Comfortable entering production data into business systems

What You’ll Do

Operate CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts
Perform basic machine setup and adjustments
Load materials and tooling following job specifications
Inspect parts to ensure conformance to blueprint tolerances
Monitor tooling wear and machine performance
Record production and inspection data accurately
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $26.95/hour

Bonus: 5% annual bonus potential
