Description
The CNC Lathe Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC turning equipment to produce precision-machined parts according to engineering specifications and production schedules. The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment focused on quality and efficiency.
· Set up and operate CNC lathe machines for production runs and prototype work
· Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
· Select, install, and adjust tooling, inserts, fixtures, and machine offsets
· Perform machine programming edits at the control as needed
· Monitor machine performance and inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy
· Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators
· Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments to maintain quality standards
· Maintain proper documentation for production, quality, and maintenance records
· Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
· Collaborate with management, quality, and production teams to improve processes and reduce downtime
· Perform other duties as required in support of machine uptime and production throughput
Requirements
· High school diploma or GED required
· Technical training or machinist certification preferred
· 2+ years of CNC lathe machining experience preferred
· Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and live tooling
· Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
· Strong understanding of machining speeds, feeds, tooling, and materials
· Experience with tight tolerance machining
· Ability to use precision measuring equipment accurately
