• Accountable for maintaining zero quality non-conformance issues annually.
• Demonstrates full knowledge of tooling and insert specifications, with the ability to quickly identify tooling by sight.
• Capable of performing complex machine setups and highly skilled in advanced machining practices.
• Proactively plans ahead by reviewing upcoming jobs to ensure programs, tooling, materials, and setups are prepared.
• Supports and mentors other operators, demonstrating strong leadership and supervisory qualities.
• Possesses cross-machine experience—mill operators can run vertical, horizontal, and manual mills; lathe operators can run slant bed, horizontal, and vertical lathes.
• Operates manual machines for a variety of general machining applications.
• Proficient in using all inspection equipment and able to step in as an inspector when needed.
Schedule Options
• Monday–Thursday, 3:00pm – 1:00am (10-hour shifts)
• Sunday–Tuesday, 3:00pm – 3:00am (work 36 hours, paid for 40)
• Wednesday–Friday, 3:00pm – 3:00am (work 36 hours, paid for 40)
Competencies
• Minimum of 5 years of machining experience required.
• Strong understanding of trigonometry and geometry, with the ability to apply concepts using a calculator and train others.
• Advanced ability to read, write, and edit G-code programs (simple to complex), and adjust programs based on dimensional changes.
• Skilled in using programming software for lathe operations and able to train others on its use.
• Deep understanding of speeds, feeds, and surface footage calculations, with the ability to apply and teach these concepts.
