CNC Machinist II – 2nd Shift
Pay: $25–$35/hr. + $1.50/hr. shift differential
Schedule: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM | 4x10 Schedule

Position Overview
A growing advanced manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist II to join its 2nd shift team. This is a hands-on role within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment requiring strong setup and troubleshooting skills on CNC mills and lathes.
The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-axis machines and live tooling, along with the ability to independently set up, operate, inspect, and troubleshoot machining processes with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes based on production schedules and work orders
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Install fixtures, vises, tooling, and materials accurately
- Load and adjust tooling, set offsets, and verify tool paths
- Perform first article inspections and make adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Troubleshoot setup, tooling, programming, and machine performance issues
- Collaborate with programmers and operators to improve efficiency and quality
- Maintain accurate setup documentation and tooling records
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and optical inspection systems
- Modify simple G-code functions including feeds, speeds, and taper compensation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience with mills and lathes
- 3+ years of setup experience on multi-axis CNC equipment including live tooling
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of G-code and machining principles
- Ability to independently troubleshoot machining and setup issues
- Experience using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed
