Job Overview:

Description

 Job Summary:Manufacture parts to specification, operate CNC machines (Lathes, Vertical Machining Center and/or Swiss), optimize quality and productivity, and perform other tasks as assigned. 


Job Responsibilities, including by not limited to:

  • Properly operate, load, and unload machines.
  • Perform operator level machine maintenance. 
  • Change out tooling and bars and setup bar feeder as  applicable.
  • Conduct insert and tool changes, change work-holding components, and make offsets. 
  • Identify and communicate machine operation and part  quality problems. 
  • Assure and maintain proper coolant and lubrication oil levels.  Operate to workmanship standards; working from prints, processing routings, and/or samples to achieve and exceed quality and production expectations.
  • Maintain predetermined gaging instruments (micrometers, depth micrometers, comparator, fixed gaging, any other work-related gaging instruments) to specified requirements.
  • Connect with department personnel as needed to maximize production, execute schedules, and allow for uninterrupted set-ups.
  • Record work performed via E2 and maintain proper documentation. Communicate job status to department manager. 
  • Follow the safe practices and housekeeping instructions for the CNC department.
  • Uphold knowledge of relevant sections of the ASP’s ISO Quality Management System and how they apply to your position.
  • Always make sure to be in vicinity of machine while equipment is running.
  •  Assist in training operators.

 This position requires activities that are subject to US Export Control Laws and require US Citizenship or Green Card Holder.

Requirements

 

Position Specification:

· Possess mechanical aptitude and attitude.

· Fully complete in-house training as a CNC operator AND/OR have experience operating CNC Machines.

· Fully complete department safety training. 

· Understand ASP’s ISO Quality Management System.

· Competent in blueprint reading, GD&T, and parts inspection capabilities.

· Knowledgeable in tooling application and competent in changing / inserting tools and making offsets when necessary.

· Possess basic tools and inspection equipment.

· Maintain interpersonal skills to effectively interact with and relate to others. Contribute to the continual improvement and productivity of the company. 

· Computer literate and basic level math competent.

· Fully proficient in the English language. 

Physical Demands

· Manual Dexterity

· Visual accuracy with or without corrective lenses

· Stand/Walk for more than 2/3rds of the workday

· Sit, kneel, climb, squat, and bend /twist at waist less than 1/3rd of the workday

· Lift: 

1-50 lbs. floor to waist -------------- less than 1/3 of workday 

1-30lbs, waist level & above ------- more than 1/3 of workday
