Job Overview:

Who We Are

Final Frontier Manufacturing is a growing aerospace machine shop focused on precision, modern CNC manufacturing, and developing skilled machinists from the ground up. We run a high-mix environment with high standards and invest heavily in training and mentorship. This role is designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career as a CNC Machinist.

What You’ll Do (Year 1 Rotational Training)

As a Machinist Apprentice, you’ll rotate through core shop functions to build a strong foundation:

  • Assembly & Deburr: part finishing, edge break, hardware installation, and handling of precision components

  • Machine Operation: load/unload parts, run CNC machines, monitor cycles, and maintain process discipline

  • Part Inspection: dimensional checks using calipers, micrometers, and basic gaging; working with inspectors

  • Tool Builds & Setup Support: assembling toolholders, learning offsets, assisting with machine setups and changeovers

Throughout the rotation, you’ll follow work instructions, document work, and learn how quality, machining, and inspection fit together in a regulated aerospace environment.

Who This Is For

This role is open to early-career candidates (0–2 years experience) who want to become CNC Machinists, including:

  • Trade school or community college students

  • Candidates with shop class, FIRST Robotics, SkillsUSA, or similar hands-on programs

  • Military veterans with mechanical or technical backgrounds

  • Entry-level operators or technicians ready to move beyond button-pushing

No prior CNC experience is required. We’re looking for people who are curious, disciplined, and motivated to learn the craft.

Registered CNC Machinist Apprenticeship

This position is part of our state and federally registered CNC Machinist Apprenticeship. The program is a paid, 2-year pathway combining rotational on-the-job training across machining, setups, inspection, CAM, and operations with structured technical coursework. Graduates earn a Journeyman Machinist Certificate from the State of Colorado.
