**General Purpose
**
Sets up, operates, controls, adjusts, and performs work on various CNC machining centers and Lathe to fabricate parts which meet customer specifications by performing the following duties:
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities
**
Reads job routings, blueprints and CNC program for product specifications such as material, dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
Selects, positions and secures tooling and fixtures based on set up information provided or as provided by lead supervisor.
Checks part to ensure proper squareness, angularity, flatness, general condition and gauge.
Positions and secures stock or part in holding device, machine table, or fixtures.
Loads program for the part number to be fabricated and transfers data to the machine.
Puts in offsets for tooling, fixtures and part to establish proper locaters.
Engages equipment cycle to fabricate part and observes operation of the machine.
Deburrs machined part and checks all specified dimensions with appropriate measuring tools to ensure that all tolerances have been achieved.
Initiates adjustments if required to meet product specifications and acquires first piece inspection approval.
Produces balance of parts required following appropriate batch sorting and inspection procedures.
Records time and piece count and verifies accuracy of shop routing estimates and piece count order requirements.
Tears down fixtures and tooling after completion of job, cleans, inspects and returns to proper storage location or tool crib.
Maintains excellent attendance to eliminate production disruptions.

**Education and/or Experience
**
Three to six months related work experience or training on the job with a qualified person who has performed this function and has a thorough knowledge of the equipment and its total functions.

**Language Skills
**
Ability to read, understand and interpret blue print drawings and CAD drawings.
Ability to read, understand and interpret measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, combination squares, protractors, micrometers and calipers, in metric and English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as company routing sheets, inspection reports, rules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals in English.
**Mathematical Skills
**
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to convert metric/English units of measure.
**Reasoning Ability
**
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
