CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift

Position Summary
A manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced
CNC Machinist
to support daily machining operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet print specifications and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and confident working in a precision machining environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Review shop orders, blueprints, and job documentation to understand machining requirements and tolerances.
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Make tool offsets, adjust machine parameters, and perform minor program edits as needed.
- Monitor machine performance and change cutting tools, inserts, or fixtures as required.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using standard measuring instruments.
- Verify part quality and report any nonconformances or machining concerns to supervision.
- Maintain accurate part counts, inspection records, and production documentation.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and 5S standards.
- Follow all quality, safety, and production guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support machining operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
- Strong working knowledge of CNC machining processes, including setup, operation, and basic program editing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical instructions.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and repeatability.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-focused setting.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Industrial machine shop environment.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and machining materials.
- Required use of personal protective equipment in designated areas.
