Job Overview:

Job Title: CNC Machinist 

Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday through Thursday - 2nd shift -(2:00pm-12:00am) - Overtime as needed.

Pay Rate: Ray of pay will be based on level of previous experience and knowledge.


Summary of duties and responsibilities:

The CNC Operator is responsible for safely operating pre-set CNC equipment to produce quality parts that meet customer and internal specifications. This role focuses on consistent production and adherence to standard work.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:


  1. Load parts into and unload parts from the CNC machines. 
  1. Operate CNC machines to run production.
  2. Deburr parts when necessary.
  3. Perform quality checks per requirements.
  4. Package parts.
  5. Perform material handling functions.
  1. Read and understand work instructions.
  2. Wear appropriate PPE.
  3. Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  4. Use small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to parts.
  5. Read and understand measurement devices.
  1. Perform other associated job duties as needed.



Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

 

  1. Must be able to use small hand-held tools, grinders, sanders, etc. 
  2. Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.
  3. Forklift experience is a plus
  4. The ability to read calipers, digital micrometers and indicators is a plus, but is not required. 
  5. Experience operating and setting up CNC machines is highly desirable but is not a requirement.


Physical environment/working conditions: 

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
