Position Summary


Momentum Manufacturing Group - Evans machine operators produce a variety of precision metal parts primarily from Aluminum & Steel using computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as Vertical, Horizontal and Multi-axis Milling Machines.

  • This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Non-Exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.


Essential Functions

  • Review blueprints and/or written specifications for a job
  • Apply machine tool math
  • Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine
  • Set-up controls, fixtures, tooling, and make cuts to make machined parts. Make adjustments required to produce good product
  • Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in operation
  • Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances
  • Understand and maintain QC procedures
  • Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe work environment
  • Understand and follow all QMS procedures (based in ISO9001)
  • Must follow procedures and execute tasks assigned by Team Leader
  • Must comply with ALL Company code of conduct, safety and procedural rules and regulations
  • Support additional tasks as needed to meet business needs


Required Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED Preferred
  • Tasks require standing and walking 100% of the time; lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion
  • Tasks require use of hand tools and power tools
  • Tasks require clear close vision for inspection of parts
  • Tasks require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must work in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Must be able to work as a team player

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience CNC machining 
  • Certification in CNC machining or related technical training
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience working in a safety-conscious industrial environment.
  • Lean or process improvement exposure


Work Environment


This position operates on the manufacturing floor environments. Exposure to noise, machinery, temperature variation, and industrial conditions may occur when accessing plant areas.

Physical Demands


The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend and kneel without difficulty
  • Ability to repeatedly lift/pull/push 50lbs
  • Exposure to loud noises
  • Working in the presence of fork trucks and other manufacturing machinery
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently
