Job Overview:
Position Summary
The CNC and Manual Machine Operator is responsible for all job functions while operating the Vertical Turret Lathe machine to produce parts. Machine Operators are responsible for setting up the machines, operating required equipment and running parts at the production standard while maintaining 5S and cleanliness of the workstation.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate the VTL and tap Extractor.
- Check dimensions to ensure quality of parts.
- Read and understand simple blueprints.
- Ensure integrity of product and quality standards.
- Perform daily inspection and general set up maintenance of equipment.
- Follow all production and safety procedures.
- Perform all other department tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Experience and Education Required
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of operation of CNC or Manual machinery.
- General knowledge of standard measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.
- Ability to work to close tolerances and check part dimensions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 lbs continuously and 50 lbs occasionally.
- Requires prolonged periods of working on your feet and walking occasionally throughout the day.
