Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist (or CNC Operator looking to take the next step) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a non-production CNC environment, demonstrating the ability to perform accurate setups and machining of various materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in reading blueprints, and a hands-on approach to operating CNC machines. If you're a self-motivated, team-oriented individual with your own tools, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts in a variety of materials (metals, plastics, etc.).
  • Interpret and read blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to ensure the accuracy of machined parts.
  • Perform adjustments to CNC programs as needed to optimize efficiency and ensure product quality.
  • Conduct thorough machine setups, including alignment and calibration of tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues independently, minimizing downtime and maintaining optimal production flow.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and care of CNC machines and equipment, including performing routine checks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a non-production or low-volume, high-mix environment (preferred).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and drawings.
  • Strong setup and operational skills for various CNC machines (lathes, mills, etc.).
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials, including metals, alloys, and composites.
  • Experience with G-code and CNC control systems (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and fix machine-related issues.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Must possess own tools and be familiar with industry-standard equipment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a prototype or custom job shop environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
