Job Description

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a precision manufacturing organization, is seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join its growing team. We are hiring for multiple machining specialties, including CNC Mill, 5-Axis CNC Machining, and Precision Gear Grinding. Day and night shift opportunities are available for experienced machinists looking to work in a high-quality manufacturing environment.

Job Duties

• Set up and operate CNC milling, 5-axis machining, or precision gear grinding equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Perform machine setups including tooling, offsets, workholding, fixtures, and program verification
• Edit or prove CNC programs and make machine adjustments to maintain part quality
• Measure finished components using precision inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy
• Troubleshoot machining processes and replace or adjust tooling as needed
• Complete production documentation and quality records while maintaining shift-to-shift communication
• Follow all quality, safety, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing procedures to ensure efficient production

Skills & Experience

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment (additional experience preferred)
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges
• Strong understanding of machining fundamentals including tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and machine adjustments
• Ability to perform basic shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry
• Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 and/or AS9100
• Ability to follow PPE requirements and safe manufacturing practices

Desired

• Experience with CNC mills, horizontal or vertical machining centers
• Experience operating 5-axis CNC machining centers
• Experience with precision gear grinding equipment
• Experience editing or programming CNC machines
• Mastercam experience
• Experience with Heidenhain or Fidia controls
• Knowledge of fixturing, workholding, and large-part machining
• Experience with ERP systems and production documentation
• Crane or overhead lifting experience
• Knowledge of 5S and continuous improvement practices
