CNC Lead Machinist - DIRECT HIRE
Schedule:Monday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (4x10s)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experiencedSwiss CNC Lead Machinistto join our growing manufacturing team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and operating Swiss CNC machines while providing guidance and support to the machining team. The ideal candidate has a strong machining background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for producing high-quality precision components.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss CNC machines.
- Program and edit CNC programs as needed to optimize production.
- Lead and mentor machinists and operators on the production floor.
- Ensure parts meet quality specifications using precision measuring equipment.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Optimize cycle times and improve machining processes.
- Assist with tooling selection, offsets, and machine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet customer requirements.
- Train new employees on equipment, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Swiss CNC machining experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or lead machinist experience preferred.
- Strong setup and programming experience with Swiss-style CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators.
- Experience making tooling adjustments and optimizing machining processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to work independently while leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Tornos, or similar Swiss CNC equipment.
- G-code editing and programming.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prototype and high-precision production machining.
