Skills Required:
Primary (Must-Have):
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience operating CNC Mills, Swiss Lathes, Grinders, and Manual Machining Equipment
- Strong blueprint reading and engineering drawing interpretation skills
- Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to independently perform machine setups and machining operations
- Advanced shop mathematics and trigonometry knowledge
- Experience troubleshooting machining and tooling issues
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experience working in lean manufacturing environments
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform close-tolerance precision machining operations
- Experience using precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, and surface plates
Secondary (Good to Have):
- Experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or high-tech industrial environments
- Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Experience developing manufacturing processes and machine setups
- Previous mentoring or training experience for junior machinists
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Technical certification in CNC machining or related manufacturing discipline
Position Overview
We are seeking skilled Machinist Technicians (CNC Machinists) to join a leading aerospace manufacturing organization supporting the production of precision components used in commercial flight control systems. Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers and conventional machining equipment
- Perform close-tolerance precision machining operations according to engineering specifications
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and production standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Develop machine setups and support manufacturing process improvements
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, and surface plates
- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities and maintain quality records
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Train and mentor junior machinists as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating CNC Mills, Swiss Lathes, Grinders, and Manual Machining Equipment
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Ability to independently perform machine setups and adjustments
- Advanced shop math and trigonometry skills
- Experience with precision measuring and inspection equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or high-tech industrial industries
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Technical certification or vocational training in CNC Machining or Manufacturing Technology
- Experience supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or training experience
