Job Title: CNC Machinist
Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday through Thursday (2:00pm-12:00am). Overtime as needed.
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
The CNC Operator is responsible for all activities on the shift in a fabrication/metal shop facility. Employees must follow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Load parts into and unload parts from the CNC machines.
- Operate CNC machines to run production.
- Deburr parts when necessary.
- Perform quality checks per requirements.
- Package parts.
- Perform material handling functions.
- Read and understand work instructions.
- Wear appropriate PPE.
- Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
- Use small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to parts.
- Read and understand measurement devices.
- Perform other associated job duties as needed.
Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
- Must be able to use small hand-held tools, grinders, sanders, etc.
- Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.
- Forklift experience is a plus
- The ability to read calipers, digital micrometers and indicators is a plus, but is not required.
- Experience operating and setting up CNC machines is highly desirable but is not a requirement.
Physical environment/working conditions:
The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
