CNC Machinist

Pay: $28 - $35 an hour (DOE)
Shift: Monday – Thursday (4:30PM – 3:00AM)
Position Overview:
We’re partnering with a leading manufacturer in Kalamazoo, MI to hire a CNC Machinist. In this role, you’ll play a key part in producing high-quality components used in the aerospace and defense industry—where precision, expertise, and problem-solving are critical.
This is an opportunity for a true machinist—not just an operator—who takes pride in their craft and can independently set up, run, and troubleshoot machining processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines to produce precision components
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and offsets for optimal performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements
- Monitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Troubleshoot machining issues and identify root causes independently
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet strict quality standards
- Edit programs or recommend process improvements when needed
- Maintain accurate records and update jobs in ERP systems
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong CNC machining experience (setup, tooling, and operation)
- Independent problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot without constant support
- Solid understanding of GD&T and ability to work with tight tolerances
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience in job shop, prototype, or low-volume environments preferred
- Comfortable using computers and ERP systems
- Reliable work history with strong attendance and longevity
- Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
