We are hiring for a CNC Machinist on the Westside of Jacksonville. This is a direct hire with a great company.
The Conventional Machinist will operate, set up, and maintain manual lathes, mills, and related shop equipment to produce and repair metal components to precise specifications.
This full-time, on-site role is based in Jacksonville, FL and involves reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, tolerances, and materials.
Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring and marking workpieces, selecting appropriate tooling and speeds/feeds, performing roughing and finishing operations, and verifying dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
The machinist will troubleshoot machining issues, adjust setups as needed, and ensure all work meets quality, safety, and deadline requirements.
Additional duties may include assisting with equipment maintenance, collaborating with team members on complex repairs, and contributing to continuous improvement in shop processes.
Qualifications:

Strong conventional machining skills, including setup and operation of manual lathes, mills, and related equipment.
•
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions, including dimensions and tolerances.
•
Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
•
Solid understanding of machining principles, materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and surface finishes.
•
Experience with repair machining, fitting, and fabrication of custom or one-off parts is highly beneficial.
•
Commitment to shop safety, including safe machine operation, proper use of PPE, and adherence to company safety procedures.
•
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain quality standards under time constraints.
•
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, production-oriented environment.
•
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials, and work around industrial machinery.
•
Previous experience as a conventional/manual machinist in a job shop, repair, or manufacturing environment preferred.
•
Vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical certification in machining or a related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial shop environments.
•
Ability to safely operate machining, grinding, and material-handling equipment.
