Job Overview:

CNC Machinists - Lathe & Mills

We are seeking machinists to join one of the leading machine shops in Western, PA. Our shop is the definition of a 21st century machine shop. We have an extremely clean and updated environment, new machines, a lucrative yearly bonus, and amazing long-term benefits.

As one of our machinists, you will load programs into CNC machines, do any necessary setup & tool changes for each job, and monitor machine during operation. After each run, perform inspection of parts using various precision devices to ensure quality. May perform some very basic maintenance on equipment as needed. Experience with multi-axis machines is preferred. Any programming/editing experience is a huge plus.

Job Details:

• Afternoon Shift: 3pm - 1:30am (10-hour shift)

• Daylight Shift: 5am - 3:30pm (10-hour shift)

• Schedule: Monday to Thursday – OT on Friday is available if desired

* A lot of machinists truly enjoy the opportunity to either take advantage of a 3-day weekend, or use Friday as a chance to add overtime to their weekly hours *

• Pay rate: $25 - $34+/hr. - starting rate is highly dependent on education, training, experience, and combined skillset.

• *Journeyman papers can qualify candidates for a higher rate*

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determine the fixtures, attachments and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications, and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting

• Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts

• Oversee cutting process, make adjustments throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate errors

• Supervise machine temperatures, ensure that machine has adequate warm-up and cool-down time between jobs and replace coolant periodically

• Review and interpret cutting plans, enter them into control outlets before jobs and alter them to correct mistakes when necessary

• Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement

• Any manual machining experience would be a plus, but it is not required for this position.
