Job Overview:

The Machine Shop produces machined components for both individual parts and sub-assemblies by operating Manual and Computer Numerical Control Machines (CNC); maintaining quality and safety standards; maintaining equipment and supplies.  


 

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Ability to operate Manual Mills and Lathes
  2. Demonstrates knowledge on 2 and 3 axis CNC Machines or more
  3. Understands and has a general knowledge of G and M codes
  4. Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret drawings/specifications and work instructions
  5. Operates and effectively uses all applicable measurement equipment
  6. Knowledge of Plasma and Water Jet tables a plus
  7. Able to solve, identify potential problems and solutions 
  8. Able to identify waste within current processes
  9. Able to lift 50 lbs. and possesses manual dexterity  


 

Education & Experience

  • High school or GED equivalent 
  • Prior trade experience

  • Read and interpret blueprints/ drawing specifications.
  • Able to operate and maintain general hand and air tools – brake, sheer grinding equipment. 
  • Have an understanding of standard work procedures. 
  • Follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
