Summary of Position:
The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist will be responsible for performing all the necessary set-up, inspection, tool changes and production required to manufacture airplane cargo systems parts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
Blueprint Interpretation:Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of GD&T symbols, Datums, and geometric tolerancing.
Quality Control:Perform inspections and measurements to ensure that finished parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
Equipment Maintenance:Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine tools to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
Material Selection:Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for different jobs.
Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety regulations, maintain a clean and orderly workspace, and report any faulty equipment or unusual conditions.
Problem-Solving:Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve production issues and improve machining processes.

This position requires access to export control information. To conform to US Export Control regulations, the applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the US Government.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
The position requires that the employee regularly sit and use their hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
