Job Overview:

Crane Aerospace & Electronics needs a talented individual in our Fluid Management Group at our Elyria, OH facility to fill the role of a CNC Setup Machinist.

Responsibilities

  • Process material through various machining and finishing operations in a team-oriented cell.
  • Responsible for maintaining cell inventory.
  • Set up and operate various machines within the cell, inspect parts, deburr, perform flush and chip check, and sub assembly operations.
  • Use manual mills, drills, and various gauges when required.
  • Provide a finish in accordance with the manufacturing outline and blueprint requirements
  • Identify and mark parts to blueprints and/or applicable specifications.
  • Clean and move parts as necessary.
  • Pass an annual eye exam.
  • Responsible for product verification and process control including using necessary measuring devices.
  • Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes.
  • Perform required rework, secondary operations, routine maintenance, and appropriate safety checks in the cell.
  • Inspect work and verify that product meets all appropriate standards at each operational step in the cell.
  • Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor. Utilize computer to access various databases.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have previous CNC machining experience.
  • Must have basic reading and writing skills; Requires basic math skills to make necessary calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions.
  • Requires a working knowledge of fixtures, cutting tools, CNC controls and machines.

Physical Demands

  • Requires prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, and stretching.
  • Requires occasional lifting parts, fixtures, and containers, weighing up to 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet.
  • Requires frequent lifting and loading of parts weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 5 feet; Requires use of burring tools.

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $33.00 to $37.00/hr. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
