Cogitic is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in a high-mix, low-volume environment supporting critical national defense programs. This role is responsible for setting up and operating advanced CNC equipment, proving out programs, troubleshooting machining challenges, and producing complex, high-quality components.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, models, tolerances, and GD&T
- Review and prove out CNC programs using Mastercam and NCSimul
- Utilize Renishaw probing and tool-setting systems
- Machine complex components, including exotic and heat-resistant alloys
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues and improve setups, cycle times, and quality
- Maintain accurate work order and process documentation in ProShop ERP
What We're Looking For
- 5–10 years of machining experience
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Programming, Drafting, or related field
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling
- Strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Experience with CNC setup and complex machining processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain/maintain a security clearance
