Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce high-quality components on both lathe and milling equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires a meticulous operator who can set up, run, and fine-tune CNC machines to produce precision parts in accordance with technical specifications and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup & Operation:

    • Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work orders to determine machining parameters, including dimensions and tolerances.

    • Mark materials accurately to establish reference points for subsequent machining.

    • Load parts, set machine offsets, perform simple program edits, and deburr components to ensure quality production.

  • Quality Control & Adjustment:

    • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.) to ensure they meet specified tolerances.

    • Detect any machining irregularities or equipment malfunctions and make necessary adjustments to maintain production quality.

  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Follow prescribed production procedures, ensuring proper sequence and accuracy of operations.

    • Utilize forklifts and other lifting devices as needed for material handling.

    • Adhere to both written and verbal instructions to achieve consistent and reliable production outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience operating CNC machines (lathe and milling) in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in using G-Code and M-Code for machine setup and operation.

    • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments, including but not limited to calipers, internal/external micrometers, depth gauges, and scales.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.

    • Familiarity with machining accessories such as tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and fixtures.

  • Education & Additional Skills:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

    • Must be capable of operating forklifts and other lifting devices.

    • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra) for accurate material calculations.

    • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written, for clear interpretation of instructions and collaboration with team members.
