Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join our precision machining team. This roleis responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC lathes and/or milling

machines to produce high-quality precision components that meet engineering specifications andtight tolerances.

The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading skills, experience with precision measuringequipment, and the ability to independently set up and run CNC machines in a fast-pacedmanufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

-Perform machine setups on CNC lathes and/or CNC mills, including loading

programs, setting tooling, and establishing offsets.

Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine

machining processes and requirements.

Load raw materials and prepare machines for production runs.

Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain part accuracy and

surface finish.

Conduct first article inspections and perform in-process quality checks using precision

measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Troubleshoot machining issues and make program, tooling, or offset adjustments as

needed.

Work closely with programmers, engineers, and supervisors to optimize machining

processes.

Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company safety and 5S

standards.

Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and tooling.

Accurately document production data, inspection results, and any quality issues.

Qualifications

Previous experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or CNC milling

machines.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machining issues.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing

environment.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training is a

plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components.

Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and documentation.

Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision machining work.
