Position Overview

Snelling Talent Partners is partnering with an established manufacturing company in Chesterfield, MO, seeking an experienced and dependable CNC Machine Operator to join its production team.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering the potential for permanent employment based on performance, attendance, and business needs.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on CNC machine operating experience, strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint-reading skills, and experience using precision measuring instruments. This position involves operating CNC machinery to manufacture high-quality components while maintaining strict production and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, including milling and turning equipment.

• Load and unload materials, position workpieces, and monitor machining cycles.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production specifications.

• Perform machine setups, tool changes, and basic offset adjustments.

• Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.

• Perform first-piece inspections to verify dimensional accuracy.

• Monitor machine performance and identify machining issues or inconsistencies.

• Troubleshoot basic machine and tooling problems to maintain production efficiency.

• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure finished components meet quality standards.

• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance.

• Document production information and report quality concerns to supervisors.

• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Previous CNC machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or similar machining equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.

• Understanding of machining tolerances and quality inspection procedures.

• Ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot production issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent production quality.

• Dependable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating 3-axis or 4-axis CNC machines.

• Familiarity with Mazak, Haas, Fanuc, Okuma, or Mori Seiki equipment.

• Knowledge of G-code and M-code.

• Experience performing CNC machine setups, tool changes, and offset adjustments.

• Experience maintaining tight tolerances, including ±0.001 inch.

• Familiarity with first-piece inspections and quality control procedures.

• Experience operating multiple CNC machines during a production shift.

• Background in precision tooling, metalworking, or manufacturing equipment.
