Position Overview:
This is a 6-month contract-to-hire role with a Navy ship repair and submarine support operation. You will set up, program, and run CNC and manual machines to build one-off, build-to-print components.
Every submarine that sails for the U.S. Navy depends on parts machined to near-perfect precision, and this role puts you at the center of that work. In Chesapeake, you will turn blueprints into one-of-a-kind components, not mass-produced widgets. Each job brings new challenges, from HY-80 and HY-100 steel to stainless and Inconel, so no two days look alike. Your skill with CNC lathes and mills, tight tolerances, and careful inspection keeps critical submarine systems safe and ready. If you want meaningful, hands-on machining work with a clear path to the client’s direct payroll, this is it.
Machine one-off submarine components from HY-80, HY-100, stainless and Inconel on CNC lathes and mills, hold tight tolerances, and see your work support the U.S. Navy fleet.
