CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift
Location: Brandon, SD
Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts

This position offers flexibility in choosing your preferred 10-hour shift within the second-shift schedule. Once a schedule is selected, employees are expected to maintain consistent hours.
Examples of available schedules may include:
- 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m.
- 8:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.
This four-day workweek provides employees with consistent three-day weekends.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC equipment used to manufacture high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, setup experience, and the ability to work independently while meeting production, safety, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and related machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for machining operations.
- Use precision measuring instruments to inspect finished components.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and production issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
- Document production results and inspection measurements accurately.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality-control requirements.
- Assist with process improvements and machining optimization.
Qualifications
- At least five years of combined CNC machining experience, or an equivalent combination of machining experience and technical education.
- CNC machine setup experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, tolerances, and quality control.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize machining operations.
- CNC programming experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Equipment
The facility includes:
- Three vertical CNC mills
- Three horizontal CNC mills
- Eleven CNC lathes with live tooling and sub-spindles
- Two automatic saws
- One light-production MIG welding cell
Machine Capacities
- Milling: Up to 20 inches x 40 inches x 16 inches
- Turning: Up to 14 inches in diameter x 28 inches in length
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.
- This is an in-person position in Brandon, South Dakota.
