**Position Summary:

The Team Leader is responsible for guiding and leading a team of machinists (yourself included) to achieve department goals and exceed customer expectations. Success in this role requires a strong strategic and analytical orientation, coupled with exceptional communication skills, superb machining knowledge, and collaborative management style.

**$4000 Sign-on Bonus – Partial pay out at time of hire and remaining paid out throughout first year of employment

**Position Description:
**
Provide hands-on leadership through on-going coaching, including cross-training employees in assigned work group.
Train and teach team members to identify Value Added (VA) and Non-Value Added (NVA) activities in process and set goals to eliminate NVA activities.
Assist in the initial and ongoing training of all new employees assigned to their shift that enter the operations area. This includes: maintaining and operating machines, understanding the daily priorities, insuring correct procedures are followed to produce quality parts, and completing the necessary paperwork throughout the shift.
Provide input in the evaluation and development of fellow team members.
Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance as well as other production supervisors to identify areas for improvement and problem solving as they arise.
Maintain an open line of communication with team members to communicate concerns or ideas to management in a timely manner.
Responsibility to fill-in when team members are engaged in continuous improvement activities or absent.
Execute production schedule and chart hourly
Monitor/maintain supplies and materials on a regular basis. Create work orders for maintenance as needed.
Attend department meetings to communicate specific customer requirements, scheduled work hours, quality, etc.
Address any quality concerns or defects that may develop. The Team Leader may be asked to conduct training sessions with the associates to raise awareness and resolve issues.
Facilitate continuous improvement projects. Create standard work sheet and maintain adherence.
Facilitate a safe working environment, maintain an acceptable and sustainable level of 6S (Safety and 5S)
**Experience:
**
2 or more years as a Team Lead in manufacturing, especially a skilled machining environment.
Experience with CNC Machinery, including machine maintenance and G & M programming.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to focus on continuous improvement strategies.
Proven leadership skills to include but not limited to effectively influencing others without direct authority, and exercising patience to train, mentor and develop team members .
Attention to detail and accuracy which involves using specific measuring tools, expertise in reading blueprints/schematics, and understanding of metrology.
