Description
We are looking for an experienced individual trained in CNC machine operations, set-up, programming, and training. The CNC Machine Technical Lead will work throughout our Wood and/or Steel Fabrication shops to help troubleshoot machine errors, train machine operators, and help improve our machine-related processes. This role has no direct reports, but will be seen as a leader and subject-matter expert across the production floor.
What you’ll do
- Establish initial settings and programs for CNC machines and ensure continued accuracy through testing and review processes
- Develop and provide progressive technical training to CNC Machine Operators
- Work collaboratively with Production Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and external vendors to ensure full utilization of the CNC machine capabilities
- Oversee installation and commission of new CNC machines and coordinate upkeep for existing machines as needed
- Assist in the creation of prototypes and models for product components
- Troubleshoot machine errors and routine technical problems
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to review CNC equipment, processes, layout, and safety procedures
- Review modifications or calibration changes to improve productivity and reduce costs

- How to understand multi-axis machining concepts
- How to program, set-up, and operate various types of CNC machines
- How to read, interpret, and translate engineering drawings
- How to identify quality concerns in manufacturing and conduct procedural analysis to evaluate root cause
- How to work independently and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- How to coach, train, and lead others in effective machine operations
Who you are
- Someone with 2.5+ years of experience with CNC Machines and programming (we are more focused on finding the right skills than years of experience)
- Someone with proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, tight tolerance machining, and CAD modeling
- Someone with strong communication skills and experience coaching others
- Someone with a high degree of curiosity and technical aptitude
- Someone with a basic understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
Wage and Compensation
- This role can expect to earn $30.00 - $35.00 per hour upon hire
