JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Complete setups of CNC Lathes, Mills, and all other machines in the Machining area.
Monitor and verify all equipment is in proper working condition with correct safety measures in place.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all established safety regulations and procedures.
- Setup all equipment inside secondary as cell needs require.
- Assist with quoting process for any new product.
- Maintain and order tooling and supplies as needed.
- Read and interpret part prints and machine to the final product.
- Advise supervisor, or Operations Facilitator of any part, equipment, and process difficulties.
- Follow all instructions as provided on process control plans and any reference documents.
- Quality checks based on assigned level of capability.
- Gaging care and verification.
- Routine cleaning, care of machines, gages, and other equipment used.
- Perform inspections for In-Process of existing and new product as required (includes destructive tests, & nondestructive tests)
- Use all available gauging to decide fit of product – will include both setup and operation of gauging
- Inform supervision of out-of –tolerance conditions
- Audit product, process and documentation at machines as required by existing control plans
- Verify setups as required
- Complete necessary records both written and electronic
- Participate in scheduling/prioritizing of work for the department as required through working with master scheduler.
- Learn new gauging/techniques as acquired
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Inspect and/or sort parts as required.
- Record keeping (SPC charts, Production reports, Product Routers, etc.)
- Follow all standard work for autonomous maintenance.
- Participates in ongoing training and continuous improvement activities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to read and interpret a control plan
- Must be able to enter and print an NCMR
- Verification and use of micrometers
- Verification and use of indicators
- Verification and use of weight scales
- Setup and operate bench centers for Runout check and report
- Setup and operate indicator for perpendicularity check
- Setup and operate all density scales
- Setup and operate all hardness testers
- Setup and operate Comparator
- Setup and operate Mitutoyo height indicators/surface plate
- Visual inspection of compaction
- Visual inspection of sintered part (includes metallographic analysis)
- Set up and operate CMM, measure and report:
- Outside Diameter
- Inside Diameter
- Spherical Diameter
- Roundness of above features
- Perpendicularity
- Flatness
- Position
- Concentricity
- Width
- Change CMM probes and calibrate on manual and DCC machines as well as train others on equipment
- Setup and operate snap gauge
- Initialize and enter data in DataMyte electronic data collection

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED, College level Math courses are preferred.

Environmental Conditions: Primarily will be working on the manufacturing floor which will include high noise levels as well as powder metal dust. PPE will be provided when necessary.
Personal Protection Equipment: When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves.
Position Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm
