Job Description

Total Seal is seeking a motivated and dependable CNC Machine Operator Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level role is designed to train individuals in the operation and setup of CNC equipment used in the precision manufacturing of piston rings and related components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Learn to safely operate CNC machines including lathes, mills, and grinding equipment

Assist with machine setup, tooling adjustments, and program verification

Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and part specifications

Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.)

Perform in-process quality checks to ensure parts meet Total Seal standards

Load raw materials and unload finished components

Maintain accurate production and inspection records

Keep work area clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards

Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Work closely with experienced machinists and supervisors to develop technical skills

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Basic math skills including fractions and decimals

Mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing

Strong attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment

Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Prior shop, technical school, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods

Lift up to 40–50 lbs

Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise and machinery
