Job Overview:

Job summary

A Machine Operator runs various sewing machines, lathes, mills, Punch Presses, laser cutters and other machinery to fabricate a variety of parts to very close tolerances.  A Machine Operator 1 does basic machine operation.  The operator is able to tend and feed materials into a machine and make necessary measurements to verify part quality.   He/she has limited ability in doing changeovers and setups.

Essential functions

  • Manufactures WIP components to meet the demand of the assembly lines.
  • Check the accuracy of work using a variety of precision measuring tools and records the results.
  • Ensure consistent throughput and quality by following drawings and work instructions. Responsible for accomplishing line metrics set by management
  • Ensure a safe work area by following safety procedures, Hazard sign offs, and work instructions. Maintain cleanliness of area.
  • Show the ability to learn new operations, setups, and changeovers for various products and machines. 

Minimum requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must speak English
  • Basic Math and writing skills
  • Must have good hand –eye coordination and good attention to detail
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to follow work instructions, Safety procedures
  • Able to work extended hours when needed
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently

Physical requirements

Must be able to lift 50lbs on a daily basis

Must be able to perform repetitive motion using arms, hands, and wrists

Must be able to stand for a 10 hour shift

Factory environment, possible noisy and hot/cold temperatures
