Job Overview:

CNC Swiss Machine Operator

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated CNC Swiss Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating Star Swiss-type CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components that meet exact customer specifications.

We are especially interested in “walk-on” talent — individuals who may not have extensive Swiss machining experience but have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with precision measuring tools, blueprint reading skills, and the right attitude to learn and grow. Star Swiss machine experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Schedule

  • Training Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • Assigned Shift After Training: 2nd Shift, 3:15 PM–11:45 PM
  • Training will take place on 1st shift before transitioning to the assigned 2nd-shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Star Swiss-type CNC machines to produce precision components.
  • Monitor machine operation and production to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints and production specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Inspect completed parts to verify dimensions and ensure they meet print specifications.
  • Identify and report quality issues or dimensional discrepancies.
  • Make appropriate adjustments as trained to maintain consistent part quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company procedures and quality standards.
  • Work consistently and reliably to meet production expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating Star Swiss-type machines is preferred.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, or similar precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
  • Manufacturing, machining, CNC, or precision production experience is a plus.

Walk-On Candidates Welcome

We are open to candidates who may not have direct Star Swiss experience but have the right foundation and attitude to succeed. Candidates with experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, machine operation, inspection, or other hands-on mechanical environments are encouraged to apply.

Attitude and aptitude are extremely important. If you are mechanically inclined, comfortable using measuring tools, can read a blueprint, and are willing to learn, this could be an excellent opportunity to build your Swiss machining skills.

Language

English proficiency is not required. The company has translators available to support employees who speak several languages, including Spanish and Vietnamese.

Important Expectations

  • Reliable attendance is essential; employees must be able to report to work consistently and on time.
  • Cell phone use is not permitted on the plant floor.
  • Employees are expected to follow all safety and quality procedures.
  • Quality is the priority — only parts that meet specifications are acceptable.

You should be proficient in:

  • CNC Tooling
  • Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
  • Blueprint Reading

  • CNC Swiss Lathe
  • Press Brake
  • Triple Turrett Lathe
