FUNCTION:

Maintain each machine in a satisfactory operating condition to achieve production and quality objectives.

**KEY RESULT AREAS

**:

• Machines are properly maintained according to preventive maintenance and manufacturing guidelines.

• All safety procedures are followed according to OSHA and manufacturers specifications.

• Maintenance records are up to date and well documented.

• Wasted effort and material is constantly sought and eliminated.

• Constantly seeks additional work to ensure high levels of productivity are achieved.

• Duties are constantly performed in a safe manner to ensure compliance with safety specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Repair equipment and return it to production as soon as possible.

• Perform preventative maintenance as required.

• Consult with machine service organizations when additional help is needed.

• Order parts, where necessary, to repair equipment.

**DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

**

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum of three years’ experience in equipment maintenance on manual and CNC machines.

• Associates degree or certificate in industrial maintenance is preferred.

• US citizenship required.

**DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILL

**

• Mechanical knowledge of bearings, ball screws, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, and lubrication systems.

• Able to read mechanical drawings to understand, disassemble and rebuild a machine component.

• Capable of using levels, granite square and column square to check and mechanically align a machine to original specifications.

• Understand and follow basic electrical schematics.

• Able to use digital voltmeter to follow electrical schematics and check components involved.

• Ability to use an oscilloscope to troubleshoot.

• Familiarity with CNC controls such as Siemens, Fanuc and Heidenhain.

• Capable of using control diagnostics to troubleshoot a problem.

• Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot axis feedback systems such as inductosyn, resolver, encoder and linear scales.

• Familiarity with laser operation for linear accuracy checks and Renishaw ball bar for checking circularity.

• Develops close working relationship with other maintenance personnel, operators, supervisors, and production control.

• Demonstrates a highly cooperative demeanor with other employees and willingly takes the initiative to help others succeed.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends in case of urgent maintenance needs.
